Translocation / Stockpiling
The Japanese Knotweed infestation is excavated and relocated to a more convenient area on the site where it can be stockpiled on a geo-textile membrane. The stockpile is generally no more than 500mm in height. Once the stockpile is created it is securely fenced off to avoid any cross-site contamination occurring. The stockpile is then entered within an approved herbicidal eradication programme and upon completion the soil may be used elsewhere on site.
Should site conditions allow, this methodology is far more cost effective than excavation to a registered landfill.
