Stem Injection
There are occasions where ECS may approve a stem injection methodology where only the Japanese Knotweed plants are targeted leaving all neighbouring vegetation unharmed by the applied herbicides. Unlike foliar applied eradication methods, stem injection targets the application of a controlled quantity of herbicide directly into the core of the plant. This direct targeting of the herbicidal application enables stem injection to be the least insidious method of Japanese Knotweed eradication.
Stem injection can 100% be safely applied in areas where TPO’s (Tree Preservation Orders) have been issued and also where either standing or running water is an issue with pesticide applications, ECS will apply for all the necessary licences from either the Environment Agency or SEPA on behalf of our client.
